Sunflower State of Mind

Kansas is more than just a place. It is a sense of place. To many the iconic name but mysterious land is an allegory for a world that could be or once was. A blank canvass where dreamers and schemers project their ideas but Kansas is more than that. It is ad astra per aspera. It is the fiery Flint Hills and the aptly named Great Plains. It is home to revolutionaries and idealists, Superman and Dorothy, farmers, fighters, and philosophers. Kansas is simply great and this blog seeks to bear witness to the maxim that sometimes the middle of nowhere is the center the everything.

Sadly (or maybe not) I couldn’t find a picture for this post. The Geary County Historical Society Museum in Junction City puts on a show you will never forget.
